July in Manitoba

Wildflowers from our area, lady slippers these are the yellow ones, they also are a pink variety-wild orchids. blue bells, daisies, clover, a friend of mine walked through our bush and gathered 16 different flowers.

Wild Daisies! and abandoned wagon wheel. Pelicans on the Fairford River, this is flood water, it is moving faaassst.

Wild Roses, they usually bloom in June.

We still have flooding in Manitoba, the ranchers are moving cattle of the low land and now are having problems locating hay. The government is considering digging a big ditch from Lake Manitoba to Lake St. Martin and another ditch from Lake St. Martin into Lake Winnipeg. Test holes are being dug in the vicinity of the old ditch close by my parents old farm. That area is swamp and muskeg, how deep is it to bedrock is the question . Less bedrock easier digging. By the way this is election year!
Til next time!
